Description

The English Hunt Work Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between tailored and dutiful industrial-era blazers used as workwear and countryside hunting jackets. This piece is derived from 1920s sack jacket patterns and redesigned with an anatomically tailored fit, featuring a single back piece folded into shape to provide structure and form — using the same type of durable material that epitomized the originals — to achieve a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. Made from a 10 oz. Broadcloth developed exclusively for Motiv, this jacket utilizes a high-twist yarn of Hemp and Wild Tussah Silk to replicate industrial-era workwear with a touch of luxury. Enhanced with a garment wash, this beautiful Slate plain-weave exhibits color and texture depth with a softened hand while incorporating the prized and ethically harvested Tussah silk. The English Hunt Work Jacket is designed with a rolling 5-button front to provide dress-to-outerwear versatility, function, and style, along with a cotton seersucker half-lined body for a structured shape and optimal drape, paired with Bemberg-lined sleeves and a functional button cuff for practical refinement. Paying homage to the originals with sophistication, this jacket features beautifully shaped and utilitarian pocketing, including a patch front chest pocket, two front welted patch pockets with flaps that can tuck in for different formats and functions, and three interior buttoned patch pockets for the tools of your trade. Packed with superior bespoke and old- world detailing, this piece includes felled seams, zigzag back collar stitching, bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom corozo nut buttons with a unique painted finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment, one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

    Sizing

    Model Measurements: 5'9" | 150 lbs. | 38" Chest | 32" Waist - Wearing Size 46(S)

MotivMfg runs typical of traditional tailoring, and we suggest sizing to your measured chest (+8-10" per Italian Sizing) or taking your more common Alpha size. MotivMfg is graded in smaller increments—if between sizes, you can size these garments depending on primary layering intention and style preferences.

All of our MotivMfg offerings are exclusive to Division Road, and by default, we make standard adjustments to the pattern and body to make the fit relatable. Our Sizing Guide provides garment-specific measurements taken in-house, per Our Method. These measurements are not duplicated across fabric or colorways and are re-measured each production run. Created in Beijing by Daniel Gu and Samuel Wei in 2016, MotivMfg seeks to break down the duality between handmade and machine-made clothing. Based in the converted loft of a former 1950's factory, all developments, from sketch to garment, are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods dating back to the 1920’s, all patterns are hand drafted then implemented with drape and baste fittings on real life models, ensuring the spontaneity of creativity.
