The English Air Force Sidcot Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between vintage English Royal Air Force flight jackets and modern tailored outerwear pieces made for the future. This jacket is derived from an early 20th-century aviator style infused with elements of leather car coats from the 1930s, recreated in an anatomically tailored fit. Articulated set-in sleeves and a fully pleated back finished with buckle cinch waist tabs allow for a clean form and complete mobility in a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is made from full-weight European Horsehide that is vegetable-tanned to a custom recipe for a natural matte finish and grain texture, heavily washed and hand-oiled for pliability. This leather will evolve, developing a sophisticated, layered ebony patina with a natural matte finish that reveals its unique grain characteristics. This Sidcot Horsehide Leather Jacket has an architecturally designed asymmetrical RIRI® zipped front integrated into a snapped storm collar that lays down beautifully and is fully lined in the body with a British Shetland Wool Flannel combined with quilted Bemberg lined sleeves, completed with adjustable snap-tab wool gusseted cuffs for a finely finished garment with considered detailing elevated for function and style. Paying homage to the originals with sophistication, this jacket has perfectly proportioned and shaped pocketing with a device-ready gusseted snap flap patch chest pocket and lower wide welt fluted hand pockets, paired with interior pocketing for concealed carrying and keepsakes, including a welted flap chest pocket with button closure and a vertical zipped pocket. This piece is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing, including a curved front hem, rolled seams, wool trim lining throughout, and custom-patterned military-spec brass snaps and buckles with a matte zinc vintage finish.
