The American Sack Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between tailored formal and dutiful leisure blazers, perfectly balanced in design to be a timeless wardrobe staple. This piece is derived from sack jackets popularized in the United States from the 1920s-50s and re-designed with an anatomically tailored fit that bridges modern and vintage styling with a 2-button front, elongated notch lapel, and center vent. This jacket is made in a limited bolt, medium-weight 13 oz. Grey Chalk Stripe upon Herringbone Twill weave produced at the 200-year-old original Somerset mill by the world-famous Fox Brothers® using the finest 100% British Merino Wool with the signature Worsted Flannel finishing for a suiting grade fabric engineered for the outdoors. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles used in many applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing the best fibers from around the world and using intensive hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade with comfort, density, and durability, all wrapped into one. This incredibly luxurious, flexible, and robust cloth boasts a complex herringbone twill weave using shades of cool grey yarns with a subtle, woven natural grey chalk stripe for a sophisticated aesthetic that reflects its enhanced class. This American Sack Jacket is designed with a soft padded shoulder and dress-to-casual versatility with a Cupro twill half-lined body that provides drape with mobility, along with Bemberg lined sleeves and functional buttoned cuffs for practical refinement. Paying homage to the originals but elevated with tailored sophistication, this jacket has beautifully shaped and utilitarian pocketing like a welt chest pocket, flap front welted pockets, and dual chest interior welt pockets for accompaniments. This piece is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like felled and taped seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine ebony horn buttons that have a unique matte finish.
