The English Traveler Opus Coat by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between formal overcoats and 19th and 20th-century countryside hunting coats. This piece is derived from the iconically English urban-centric Crombie and outdoor-focused Covert coats, recreated in an anatomically tailored fit with raglan sleeves and a center back pleat to allow for movement and a buttoned tab to adjust the drape in an outstanding fabric that epitomizes the original. Providing a substantial form in a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary, this coat is made in a medium-weight 16 oz. Country Tweed in a twill weave produced by Scotland's renowned Lovat® Mill using 100% True Shetland Wool for a fabric made for the outdoors. With a focus on true sustainability and traceability through vertical production, this Kirkton Tweed is made from ethically sourced mulesing-free fleece from wild-raised Shetland Cheviot Sheep on the northern Scottish Islands local to Lovat® Mill, the "Home of Tweed," established in 1826. This unique small-scale black, charcoal, and rust check on a grey field is a contemporary take on an archived pattern that boasts palette and style versatility from fall through spring in a hearty twill with a refined aesthetic and subtle, textured finish. This English Traveler Opus Coat is designed with a concealed 3-button front and peak lapel for clean and versatile smart-casual styling and function, along with a Tencel twill half-lined body and Bemberg sleeve lining, resulting in a finely finished, dutiful, and comfortable multi-season coat with a sophisticated drape. Paying homage to the originals via practical refinement, this coat has adjustable tab concealed button cuffs and sophisticated utilitarian pocketing with front welt pockets with pass-through to access the interior in stormy or cold conditions, along with dual interior zipped pockets for carrying small accouterments and devices. This coat is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like taped and felled seams, a micro suede trimmed under-collar with zigzag reinforcement stitching, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine ebony horn buttons with a unique vintage finish.
