Collection: Momotaro

Founded in 2006 in Kojima, the birthplace of Japan’s domestic denim production, Momotaro Jeans are “made by hand without compromise” using artisan techniques, low speed looming, and vintage machinery resulting in some of Japan’s finest examples of jeans. Through the Okayama spirit of craft, Momotaro has an unwavering commitment to the intricate arts of dyeing, weaving, cutting, sewing and construction to yield the highest quality denim. Momotaro exclusively utilizes hand cultivated Zimbabwe cotton and deep indigo rope dyeing to yield proprietary fabrics that evolve to have a naturally soft hand with a layered finish and fading potential through heavy wear and washes across the lifespan of the denim. Momotaro comes from a Japanese folk tale that speaks to rejuvenation and pursuing one’s dreams, embodied in the tale of a boy born of a peach, here representing the dedication of Japan’s Okayama prefecture to restore and then advance vintage styled denim, symbolized through the maker’s signature peach inseam stitching and selvedge line.
