The American Vector Bomber by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed to bridge vintage military jackets and modern tailoring. This outerwear garment is derived from a WWII Tanker Jacket and features detailing inspired by aviator styles, recreated as a cleanly designed bomber with an anatomically tailored fit. A complex, articulated raglan sleeve with integrated diamond-shaped shoulder patches for reinforcement is combined with a pleated back shoulder to allow for movement, creating a design-centric approach to a cut that is perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is crafted in a 20 oz. Exmoor Overcoating Cloth woven in Fox's 200-year-old original Somerset mill using the finest 100% Superfine Merino Wool in a highly worsted, suiting-grade fabric engineered for the outdoors. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles for a range of applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing the finest fibers from around the world and employing intensive, hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade, combining comfort, density, and durability. This incredibly soft and robust twill wool comes in a natural palette to reflect the Devon coast countryside transitioning into the Exmoor wilderness it's designed to confront. It boasts a complex cloth made from yarns dyed in moss, olive, chestnut, and brown, resulting in a refined aesthetic and a luxurious flannel finish. This American Vector Bomber features a zipped and buttoned storm placket front and an articulated ribbed stand collar, hem, and cuffs, offering outdoor versatility and functionality with elevated style. Paying homage to the originals with sophisticated finishing, this jacket is fully lined in Lyocell twill and features beautifully diamond-shaped, wide-welt hand pockets and two interior snap pockets for comfortable, secure carrying. This piece is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing, including felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom-cast and burnished gunmetal buttons. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West.
