The English Cyclops Dispatch Jacket by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed as a meeting point between vintage English and German motorcycle jackets and technical outerwear pieces made for the future. This jacket is derived from military dispatch jackets infused with elements of contemporary utilitarian all-weather moto jackets, recreated in an anatomically tailored fit. This jacket is made in a 12 oz. Military Dry Waxed Canvas that's been finished at the yarn state to provide a waterproof 100% Cotton cloth from Scotland's Halley Stevensons®, renowned for their innovations in dry waxed cotton fabrics. Made to MotivMfg's specifications, this canvas is finished to military-inspired Black Vintage with a custom coating that has been washed for a worn patina while maintaining weather-resistant properties and a dry hand, resulting in an elevated piece perfect for styling versatility when on riding missions downtown or on backroads. Our iteration of the Cyclops is designed with articulated sleeves and a gusseted set-in shoulder, a front reinforcement panel that snaps to conceal a drawcord waist and welt pockets in the front with a storm shield back panel that allows for interior ventilation, and an adjustable snapped hem for easy weather and form convertibility in a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. Packed with clean design-centric utility, this piece features a British Shetland Wool zip-in body liner, a stand collar, a two-way zipped front with hidden welted storm chest pockets, and lower flap-over storm welt pockets that snap into the front panel for versatility and safe carrying of devices and keepsakes. Paying homage to the originals with sophistication, this jacket is finished with a stretch cotton blend lining and lightly padded Bemberg lined sleeves, completed with adjustable snap-tab gusseted cuffs. Finally, this jacket is finished with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, custom blackened snaps, and hardware. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West.
