Description

The American Dress Trouser by MotivMfg x Division Road is a high-rise pleated pant with a moderate top block and thigh that gently tapers to a moderate hem for a fuller look, which breaks neatly in a cut inspired by tailoring trousers from the early to mid-20th century. This trouser is made in a limited bolt, medium-weight 13 oz. Grey Chalk Stripe upon Herringbone Twill weave produced at the 200-year-old original Somerset mill by the world-famous Fox Brothers® using the finest 100% British Merino Wool with signature Worsted Flannel finishing for a suiting grade fabric engineered for the outdoors. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles used in many applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing the best fibers from around the world and using intensive hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade with comfort, density, and durability, all wrapped into one. This incredibly luxurious, flexible, and robust cloth boasts a complex herringbone twill weave using shades of cool grey yarns with a subtle, woven natural grey chalk stripe for a sophisticated aesthetic that reflects its enhanced class. Paying homage to the originals with sophisticated finishing, this fully lined trouser is designed with a single knife pleat and darted back yoke for optimal fit and drape and is given slant front welt pockets, a single back welt pocket, tacked belt loops, and a clean button front for vintage elements with modern refinement. The American Dress Trouser is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like interior cotton lining, trim, and pocket bags, is finished with a tailor's hem and seat for easy alterations, and is completed with taped seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine ebony horn buttons that have been sanded for a unique matte finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment, one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

Collection: MotivMfg

Created in Beijing by Daniel Gu and Samuel Wei in 2016, MotivMfg seeks to break down the duality between handmade and machine-made clothing. Based in the converted loft of a former 1950's factory, all developments, from sketch to garment, are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods dating back to the 1920’s, all patterns are hand drafted then implemented with drape and baste fittings on real life models, ensuring the spontaneity of creativity.
