Collection: Samurai

Samurai Jeans was established by Tohru Nogami in 1998 in the center of Osaka, where Amerika-mura was in full swing. In a little vintage clothing shop, right in the middle of this booming epicenter of creativity reinterpreting American music and fashion culture, Samurai was born based on the concept they could create garments no one else could. For over 25 years, Nogami has worked intensely on that mission by developing unique fabrics with vintage shuttle looms, creating iconic fits, and implementing exclusive hardware and trims to make Samurai completely novel. Legendary in Japanese denim culture, Samurai fabrics are recognized by unique elements, textures, weaves, and weights that push the envelope of what is possible. Each garment is made to evolve with the individual, achieved through complete attention to the provenance and characteristics of the fiber, the shape of the spun threads and yarns, and constantly striving to use antique Japanese dyeing and looms differently. From making cult collectibles to reviving and cultivating an ancient strain of cotton in Hyogo, Samurai is distinct from seed to fabric to finished garment.
