This piece is derived from 1950s French military jackets, recreated in an anatomical fit with an articulated shoulder and set-in sleeves to provide a sophisticated drape in a cut that is perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is crafted in a limited bolt, heavyweight 18 oz. Dark Olive Tweed Twill weave produced at the 200-year-old original Somerset mill by the world-famous Fox Brothers® using the finest 100% British Merino Wool in a worsted, suiting grade fabric engineered for the outdoors. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles for a range of applications, including Savile Row tailoring and British Military garments. By sourcing the finest fibers from around the world and employing intensive, hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade, combining comfort, density, and durability. This incredibly flexible and robust twill wool comes in a natural palette to reflect the Devon coast countryside transitioning into the Exmoor wilderness it's designed to confront. It boasts a complex cloth made from yarns dyed in olive, forest, and brown shades, offering a refined aesthetic and a luxuriously textured finish. This French F-2 Fatigue Jacket is designed with a concealed rolling button-front placket, a point collar, and a button-up notched lapel, offering styling and functional versatility. This jacket is an unlined, finely finished, and structurally sound piece with a Lyocell twill-lined yoke and pockets. Paying homage to the originals with sophistication, this jacket features beautifully shaped, utilitarian pocketing with concealed buttoning, including welted flap chest pockets and patch-flap front lower storm pockets with integrated welted hand pockets, along with functional design refinements such as articulated elbow patches that transition into a gusseted, buttoned cuff. This piece is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing, including zigzag back collar stitching, flat-felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and genuine horn buttons with a unique vintage finish.
