The French Work Trouser by MotivMfg x Division Road is a high-rise, single-pleated pant with a roomy top block and thigh that tapers to a moderate hem and a clean break. This tailored, modern take on straight-leg workwear trousers from the early 20th century is perfectly balanced in design, making it a wardrobe staple for the Original Gentleman. This trouser is crafted from a 10 oz. Broadcloth developed exclusively for Motiv using a high-twist yarn of Hemp and Wild Tussah Silk to replicate industrial-era workwear with a touch of luxury. Enhanced with a garment wash, this beautiful Slate plain-weave offers depth in color and texture, featuring a softened hand while incorporating the prized and ethically harvested Tussah silk. Paying homage to the original with a finished sophistication, this trouser is designed with a single knife pleat for optimal fit and drape. It features a clean button front with large tacked belt loops that serve as vintage elements with modern refinement. The French Work Trouser is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing, such as slant front pockets, workwear-inspired patch back pockets, a darted back yoke, zigzag bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom-cast, burnished metal buttons. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment, one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, processes, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West.
