MotivMfg x Division Road Collaborations

On the heels of our Residency event with MotivMfg, we bring a proper drop of collaborations with one of our closest design and production partners. This capsule collection transports you back to the rare era of tailoring — when garments were made to endure life and trends with ease. Using our sourcing formula, pattern adaptions, and debuting completely new developments, this assembly provides a range that will allow effortless styling adaptations. Made from premium materials at the highest level of craftsmanship in original designs, we present outerwear inspired by vintage flight and bomber jackets and tailoring made for countryside excursions to downtown dealings, complete with our signature industrial-era work trousers made modern.

We bring you several of our treasured patterns in new fabrications for commanding squadrons or styling fits. The English Air Force Sidcot Jacket infused with elements of the early 20th-century flight suit comes in a Black Washed Vegetable Tanned Horsehide specifically produced for this limited batch. Our American Vector Bomber combines insulated flight and tanker jackets from WWII into a completely avant-garde piece enhanced by the Midnight Covert Cloth from Lovat® with an elegant finish and unmatched durability. The English Aviator has a forward and timeless design that takes cues from WWI British Air Force and Naval coats, crafted into a heavyweight bomber jacket with a Lovat® Double Weave Performance Coating produced specifically for Motiv that drapes like tailoring and performs like steel.

As Daniel Gu has always had a penchant for tailoring, we have developed new patterns merging more formal suiting constructions with relaxed designs. The English Country Wanderer Jacket crosses a gentleman’s outdoor blazer with a modern travel jacket, giving a fresh approach to the traditional in a rare, outerwear-weight Lovat® Sporting Check in Charcoal with shades of grey and blue, pattern-matched to perfection in another anatomical design. After much ado, we re-formulated the mid-century American Sack suit for Jacket and Trouser separates to transition from casual to formal with a natural elegance. Debuted in a limited-run Fox Brothers® Worsted Flannel Herringbone woven with a subtle Chalk Stripe in Grey, these pieces are made for and appreciated by the true sophisticate.

The French Work Trouser has become a fan favorite. From suiting grade to heavyweight cloths, the application is endless for those seeking a tapered pleated pant with vintage vibes in a renewed form with modern function. This season, we bring this DR signature in a denim range developed and produced exclusively for Motiv. The new Tailors Selvedge Denim in Natural and Indigo uses a thick yarn shuttle loomed at low tension to provide a heavyweight feel and performance with unmatched drape and movement. For a rare restock, MotivMfg re-produced the famed and oft-requested Charcoal Donegal Selvedge Denim for a run of the French Work Trousers from last year, so don’t miss out, as these are all one-and-done designs — limited to those with fast clicks and exquisite taste.
