The Lot. 322 Melange Brown Tweeduroy Sports Jacket from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by tailored casual sportwear garments from the 1930s, based on the military Cossack Jacket popular at the time. This Sports Jacket is crafted from an exclusively developed 10 oz. Fine Wale Tweeduroy developed and loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan, inspired by a depression-era fabric made by Hockmeyer Company in Massachusetts for school uniforms and adult work clothing that resembled tweed woolens during fabric shortages and rationing. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, a rust-brown corduroy is printed with an irregular natural dye coffee-brown melange effect that has the aesthetic and durability of tweed, a luxurious drape, and will evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future by blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the antique original, the Sports Jacket combines fits and elements from flight, riding, and sports jackets with a tailored directional fit with set-in sleeves, a gusseted center and pleated back, side cinch buckle tabs, a rounded point collar with a top buttoned tab, an uncoated iron zipped front closure, slant welt lower hand pockets, and ribbed cuffs. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 322 Jacket is made with a Japanese cotton flannel-lined body, rayon-lined sleeves, single and double needle construction, and bartack reinforcements.
