Description

The Lot. 221 Charcoal Sumi Dyed Cotton Washi Twill Field Trousers from Taiga Takahashi T.T are inspired by an archive Civilian Conservation Corps work pant from the 1940s and come in a Straight fit with a high rise, a roomy seat and thigh, and a straight leg that ends in a wide hem. These Field Trousers are crafted from a 12 oz. Twill Cloth using long-fiber yarns spun from Cotton and Washi Paper, developed and loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan, and are brushed and washed for an aged texture and luxurious, structured drape. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, the garment is dyed with Sumi Ink used in calligraphy and derived from natural charcoal extracts for a unique tone that will evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and the Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future, blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the original with elevated details and custom trims, this Field Trouser features side-seam front and back welt pocketing, a welt coin pocket, a button fly, tucked belt loops, and charcoal-dyed corozo buttons. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 221 Trouser is completed with cotton twill for the pocket bags, waistband, and interior trims, and is constructed with a tailor’s seat, single- and double-needle construction, and bartack reinforcements throughout. Step into the future with a timeless vision of the past with Taiga Takahashi.

Sizing

Model Measurements: 6'0" | 170 lbs. | 40" Chest | 32" Waist - Wearing Size 30

T.T Trousers runs large, and closer to modern brands than typical Japanese makers. Generally we suggest sizing down 1-2 sizes from your Actual Waist Measurement (Body/Belt). Twills and canvas cloths will not stretch considerably, so size initially to an ideal fit.

Our Sizing Guide provides garment-specific measurements taken in-house, per Our Method. These measurements are not duplicated across fabric or colorways and are re-measured each production run. Please feel free to Contact Us for additional assistance.

Collection: Taiga Takahashi T.T

Through the lens of Applied Archaeology, Taiga Takahashi, known as T.T by cult-collectors, meticulously studies the garments worn by workers and everyday people who contributed to America's growth in the late 19th century, and how these clothes related to their life and duties, seeking to understand the essence of their daily existence. Approaching craftsmanship with a deep connection to history and techniques lost to mass production and consumption, T.T handcrafts garments in traditional methods to be functional time capsules.
