Description

The Lot. 005 Reproduction Deco Black Stripe Suspender from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by a 1920s antique found in Ohio. After conducting a composition analysis, the Black Stripe Suspender was reproduced in an elasticized knit of a perfectly blended rayon, cotton, and natural rubber yarn for versatile fitting and comfort, completed with brass Art Deco reproduction hardware iconic to the period. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future by blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the antique original, the Suspender is fully adjustable with brass front pressure clasps, has an artfully designed brass back strap keeper, and naturally dyed vegetable-tanned leather loops for trouser buttons. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 005 Suspender is hand and machine stitched with bartack reinforcements throughout. Step into the future with a timeless vision of the past with Taiga Takahashi.

Approaching craftsmanship with a deep connection to history and techniques lost to mass production and consumption, T.T handcrafts garments in traditional methods to be functional time capsules.
