The Lot. 327 Mud Dyed Brown Cotton Washi Twill Modified Shawl Collar Jacket from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by an archive Civilian Conservation Corps piece, repurposed from a WWI jacket, with a tailored body and a shawl collar. This Modified Jacket is crafted from a 12 oz. Twill Cloth, using long-fiber yarns spun from Cotton and Washi Paper, developed and loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan and brushed and washed for an aged texture and luxurious, structured drape. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, the garment is Dorozome mud-dyed in the local iron-rich soil baths of the small island of Amami Oshima, using completely natural extracts derived from the native Japanese Hawthorne tree, for a one-of-a-kind piece that will evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and the Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future, blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the antique original, the Modified Shawl Jacket has a tailored military fit with a darted chest and body, button front closure, set-in sleeves, a reproduction shawl collar, and buttoned flap patch front pockets. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 327 Jacket is unlined and features natural-dyed corozo buttons, with single and double-needle construction, taped and felled seams, and bartack reinforcement throughout.
