The Lot. 117 Faded Navy Amundsen Dobby Check Work Shirt from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by a rare archive 1950s workwear piece produced by a dress shirting factory, featuring a formal reversed placket and pocket construction. This Work Shirt is crafted from a 4 oz. Gingham Check Dobby Cloth, using dyed yarns spun from a Cotton/Linen/Ramie blend developed and jacquard-loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, the three-dimensional jacquard twill features a luxurious crepe texture, hand-finished to a sun-bleached fade that will continue to evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and the Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future, blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the antique original, the Work Shirt has a directional and functional draped fit and detailing with a curved back yoke, point collar, flap-front buttoned chest pockets with a hidden pencil slot, button barrel cuffs, and is finished with custom Japanese mother-of-pearl buttons.
