Collection: Batoner
Established in 2013 by the renowned knitwear factory Okuyama Meriyasu, founded in 1951 in Sagae City, Yamagata Prefecture, Batoner blends traditional Japanese knitting with contemporary textile engineering. Built on a regionally integrated production system centered in Sagae, Batoner develops proprietary premium natural-fiber yarns through close collaboration with local spinning and dyeing specialists. In the legacy factory, each garment combines advanced machinery with time-honored handwork, most notably form knitting, in which individual panels are engineered to shape before skilled artisans join them stitch by stitch using increasingly rare hand-linking techniques. This process creates precise proportions, finished interior edges, and natural movement while preserving the yarn’s tactile character. From raw fiber through finishing and inspection, Batoner advances generations of regional expertise through modern design, creating refined knitwear that connects ancient craft with contemporary form and is built to endure beyond seasons.
