The Lot. 223 Mud Dyed Brown Chino Cloth British Work Trouser from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by archive workwear from the 1940s, worn by London City utility laborers, and comes in a Wide Straight fit with a high rise, roomy seat and thigh, and a straight leg that ends in a wide hem. These British Work Trousers are crafted from a 13 oz. Natural Mud Dyed Chino Cloth developed and loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan, woven from US-grown Supima Cotton in a 3x1 Twill inspired by the 1910s WWI US Military cloth and evolved with a luxurious finish and structured drape. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, this garment is Dorozome, mud-dyed in the local iron-rich soil baths of the small island of Amami Oshima, using all-natural extracts derived from the native Japanese Hawthorne tree. The result is a lightly washed, one-of-a-kind piece that will evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and the Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future, blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the original with elevated details and custom trims, this Work Trouser features slant front pocketing with reinforcement trim, a back patch pocket, tucked belt loops, and a button fly with interior suspender buttons, finished in a black tree sap lacquer for an antique expression. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 223 Trouser is completed with cotton twill for the pocket bags, waistband, and interior trims, and constructed with a chainstitched felled seat, inseam, outseam, and hem, with bartack reinforcements throughout.
