Description

The White's x Division Road British Tan CXL 350 Semi-Dress is a 6" exclusive pattern based on the original and shorter Depression-era boots worn by store clerks and factory workers, designed to withstand the daily wear typical of the 1930s. This adapted, high Semi-Dress pattern features the signature quarter shape with a stitched-in counter and back stay, now enhanced with an integrated pull loop and increased height to provide function and durability for workshop or outdoor use, while remaining suitable for daily duty in the modern world. These Division Road White's are characterized by the versatile British Tan Chromexcel, featuring a rust-brown undertone that will patina and darken through continued exposure, as deep scuffs and high-wear areas reveal the lighter color of the natural core beneath. Chromexcel by Horween is the original pull-up leather, developed from a nearly century-old secret recipe of techniques, materials, and finishes. It is known for its flexibility, comfort, and durability. Designed in collaboration with Master Shoemaker and current CEO Eric Kinney, this boot celebrates the quintessential Northwest stitchdown construction tradition. It features White's signature hand-sewn, all-leather builds, complemented by our functional design approach that preserves the original craftsmanship, history, and lifetime durability with a fresh perspective. This high Semi-Dress utilizes the popular Arch-Ease 55 Last, known for providing trademark support with a more approachable break-in. It features an elegantly classic, round-toe shape with an accommodating forefoot and moderate profile, making it suitable for a wide variety of feet. We exclusively enhanced White's hand-sewn welted methods with a tonally corresponding Natural CXL welt to match the natural finished leather midsole and block heel atop the low-profile Vibram 430 Mini Lug Sole, providing high traction and longevity for all terrains, combined with a single row hand-sewn stitchdown to allow greater flexibility, comfort, and a clean aesthetic for the long haul. Finally, this exclusive Semi-Dress comes with an outdoor purpose, featuring a contrasting Natural CXL fully gusseted tongue and a heavy-duty natural upper thread for a rugged yet refined look. It is refined with brass eyelets and finished with a custom White's collar stamp and a WB x DR collaboration insole stamp. Made as a hallmark of White's unaltered, hand-sewn traditions and customized to Division Road specifications, this 350 Semi-Dress boasts a polished aesthetic for urban environments, built to withstand all outdoor conditions.

    Notes

This is a hand-sewn, hand-welted stitchdown workwear boot made to withstand a lifetime in challenging conditions, with a focus on durability first. Irregularity is indicative of this rare boot-making process, and as such, each pair is unique. We suggest our customers embrace the character, hand-grade details, and variation of this footwear, as that is what makes it special. This product is not for those seeking a highly refined or lighter-weight build. For more information on White's production, see our White's Factory Tour.

    Sizing

White's sizing is consistent with our old-grade manufacturers, and the 55 Last typically is equal to a Viberg or Tricker's for most feet. Generally, when sizing for White's, we suggest you select a half (.5) size down from a common US boot like Red Wing or Alden or one-and-a-half (1.5) sizes down from a common US sneaker like Nike or New Balance. Please feel free to Contact Us for assistance.

    Collection: White's

The White’s legacy began in 1853 when Edward White created a solo boot making venture in pre-Civil War Connecticut shoeing loggers and soldiers. His son, John, briefly took his master craft to the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia in 1880 before relocating the business in 1900 to the Pacific Northwest where it remains today. In 1910, John’s son Otto grew the family business into the White Shoe Company based in Spokane, Washington. The White family built a reputation for producing...
