Description

The Swiss Army Cargo Trouser by MotivMfg x Division Road is a high-rise, single-pleated pant with a roomy and relaxed top block and thigh that tapers to a moderate hem for a perfectly balanced, modern take on mid-20th century Swiss and German military and aeronautical utility pants, designed to be an inspirational piece in the Original Gentleman's wardrobe. This trouser is made in a heavy-duty 12 oz. Bedford Corduroy fashioned after military-grade cloths as a twice-woven twill using ring-spun cotton yarns to create a highly finished and resilient corded effect. Coming in a military-inspired Olive, this cloth — milled in England by Brisbane Moss® — has been flipped on the reverse for a more pliable and dimensional weave, perfect for styling versatility when on reconnaissance in the city or trekking the outdoors in all-day comfort amidst various climates. Paying homage to the original with sophisticated finishing, this trouser is designed with a single pleat for an optimal fit with drape, featuring an adjustable waistband with an ingenious tab button front and concealed elastic back, complete with a zipped fly and top button front. These Swiss Army Cargo Trousers have design-focused utilitarian pocketing, including gusseted and angled side cargo pockets and a patch back pocket with button closures paired with slant front pockets for all the tools and accompaniments one needs. Finally, this pant is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like an articulated back yoke and legs, cotton ripstop pocket bags and interior trim, felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, a finished tailor's hem for easy inseam alterations, and genuine horn buttons with a vintage, polished finish. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment, one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.

Sizing

Model Measurements: 5'9" | 165 lbs. | 41" Chest | 34" Waist - Wearing Size 32

MotivMfg generally runs true to traditional tailoring, but the Swiss Army Cargo does run large with an elasticized waist. We suggest taking 1-2 Sizes down from your Actual Waist Measurement (Body/Belt) or 1 Size down from other MotivMfg trousers. Generally, take the same size as modern brand sizing.

All of our MotivMfg offerings are exclusive to Division Road, and by default, we make standard adjustments to the pattern and body to make the fit relatable. Our Sizing Guide provides garment-specific measurements taken in-house, per Our Method, that are not duplicated across fabric or colorways and are re-measured each production run. Collection: MotivMfg

Created in Beijing by Daniel Gu and Samuel Wei in 2016, MotivMfg seeks to break down the duality between handmade and machine-made clothing. Based in the converted loft of a former 1950's factory, all developments, from sketch to garment, are done within the MotivMfg studio. Using European tailoring methods dating back to the 1920’s, all patterns are hand drafted then implemented with drape and baste fittings on real life models, ensuring the spontaneity of creativity.
