The Lot. 201 Melange Brown Tweeduroy Work Trouser from Taiga Takahashi T.T is inspired by archive tailored garments from the industrial era and comes in a Pleated Straight Tapered fit with a mid-high rise, roomy seat and thigh, and a gently tapered leg that ends in a wide, cuffed hem. These Work Trousers are crafted from a 10 oz. Fine Wale Tweeduroy, developed and loomed exclusively for T.T in Japan, inspired by a depression-era fabric made by Hockmeyer Company in Massachusetts for school uniforms and adult work clothing that resembled tweed woolens during fabric shortages and rationing. Reimagined from yesteryear with refinement, a rust-brown corduroy is printed with an irregular natural dye coffee-brown melange effect that has the aesthetic and durability of tweed, a luxurious drape, and will evolve with the wearer. Guided by the Applied Archaeology ethos and Taiga Takahashi archives, this piece resurrects a relic of the past to serve as an artifact of the future by blending aesthetic principles rooted in Japanese concepts of craftsmanship and beauty. Paying homage to the original with elevated details and custom trims, this Work Trouser features slant front and back welt pocketing, a button fly, interior suspender buttons, tucked belt loops, a cinch buckle back, and natural-dyed corozo buttons. Innovating designs from the past using old-world techniques with exquisite precision, the Lot. 201 Trouser is completed with cotton twill for the pocket bags, waistband, and front placket lining, single and double needle construction, and bartack reinforcements throughout.
