Description

The Japanese Old Slub Checked Twill Camper in Black from Gitman Vintage is a Division Road collaboration made in a three-season, 6 oz. medium-weight cloth developed from a 1950s archive fabric, using dyed yarns to create a complex black-and-white grid-check. Woven in Japan as a twill by a shirting cloth specialist, this fabric is made with 100% Cotton highly spun slub yarns for a durable, luxurious texture and a subtly brushed finish. It offers a fresh perspective on vintage inspirations. The Camper shirt is designed to be worn as an overshirt or on its own, featuring a tailored, modern fit and back shoulder pleats that allow for movement, making it suitable for layering or as a base layer in a cut that's just right for most body types. This shirt is complemented with outdoorsman-inspired details pulled from the archives, with a hidden undercollar button-down and dual chest pockets, matched with Gitman's signature chalk buttons and a final horizontal buttonhole in green thread. Gitman Vintage shirts are classic, simple, and original, with a casual sophistication that makes them a standard wardrobe piece for many well-dressed men. We are unique in our offerings of Gitman Vintage by neck sizing for all you gents between alpha sizes; you now have the opportunity for a perfectly fitting Gitman right out of the box.

In 1932, Max Gitman opened the Ashland Shirt & Pajama Company in the coal mining town of Ashland, Pennsylvania. With his two sons, Alfred and Sheldon, he ran the factory as a contract shop until 1978 when the Gitman Bros. brand was born. Today, Gitman Bros. is one of the last remaining American shirt makers with all manufacturing still based in the USA. Created with materials from mills in the US, Europe, and Japan and sewn by experienced craftspeople, history...
