De Bonne Facture
This season from De Bonne Facture is inspired by sociologist and academic Abdelmalek Sayad and, more broadly, by how some of the most esteemed minds of the 1940s through the 1980s infused folk art, workwear, and countryside utility into their daily uniforms. Through a sustained effort to use more natural fiber palettes to reduce the environmental impact of dyes and to embrace tones with an antique sensibility, this collection follows the DBF formula with entirely new fabric and pattern developments. From long outerwear like the new Writer’s Coat in an Italian Camelhair and Wool Ratine Cloth, which is about as artisan Parisian chic as it gets, to the Wool and Cotton Covert Cloth Grandad Trench that presents a fresh fabric to a form honoring the past through elegant enhancement, the assortment is deeply considered without preciousness.
For the jacket spectrum, the new Driver’s Jacket arrives in a famed Austrian wool with Tyrolean roots, lending melton cloth a formal appearance while keeping outdoorsman duty at its core. Furthering the vintage mountaineering connection, the Alpine Jacket comes in a sheer-colored Boiled Wool for a very of-the-moment reflection of being in nature while wearing something born from it. Every year, third-generation Søren Skyt returns to the lab with a mode of inspiration that often begins with form and color, creating a structural and palette-driven theme that drives his developments as they come due for fall-winter. Drawing on Scandinavian geological formations, the palette of stone, the lines of machines and architecture, and concepts that reflect society's virtues and vices, he builds collections that move from the abstract to the concrete through the elasticity of knitwear. These ideas take root in references to the sweaters his grandfather made last century, then evolve through new forms, knitting techniques, and colorways with unparalleled depth.
This season, working with a beautiful palette of grays and earthy browns, S.N.S. Herning brings back one of our favorite Robust Sweaters, with roots in the Danish Civil Defense uniform, now updated in Strata Grey and Terra Magma Brown. Alongside those returns, a new Robust Full Zip arrives in Magnetite Black, offering a versatile seasonal staple with the structure, ingenuity, and practical refinement that defines the brand. Using a new mélange yarn that combines up to five different dye saturations of the same color thread and spins them into the knitting yarn, these pieces reveal subtle hints of distinction and a rich refinement for everyday wear over the years of a life well lived.
Gitman Vintage x Division Road
It is always good to start a season with staples that are nothing but special and anything but ordinary. In collaboration with their Japanese mill partner, Gitman developed a unique take on denim for the perfected button-down, using raw, undyed slubbed silk yarns in a cotton denim twill weave to produce a speckled, flecked fabric with textured sophistication and workwear performance. Available in our modern short-length 2.5" collar and neck-sizing shirting program in Indigo, Black, and undyed Ecru, the Silk Slub Denim shirts are designed to become wardrobe foundations and support endlessly successful outfits.
For a heavier flannel with immense comfort at its core, we have the Heavy Pique Check Flannel in our exclusive Camper body, complete with back shoulder pleats and a dual-pocket front. This unique jacquard-loomed cloth has natural elasticity and drape, using knitwear-type yarns in a pique-like weave that provides textural depth within a multidimensional pattern.
