The EasyMoc x Division Road Mole Suede and Deadstock Tiger Stripe Camo Rangeley Double Bottom Boot is a fully functional hiking and hunting boot designed in collaboration with founder Greg Cordeiro. Made to serve in daily duty for the style-savvy looking to represent workshop craft, this boot highlights Maine’s finest traditions of hand-lasted, hand-sewn, true moccasin production. This Division Road make-up features an upper and double sole crafted from full-weight Mole Suede sourced from Law Tannery in Milwaukee. Utilizing only the highest quality flesh side hides, it is combination-tanned for flexibility and durability, with an aniline finish that provides a natural color. The leather is sanded to a fine suede nap, allowing it to perform and develop a graceful patina, enhancing its texture and tone. For a two-tone, mixed material configuration that speaks to evolving true moccasin construction with modern design elements, we sourced a deadstock 1960s original camouflage milled in Japan for the South Vietnamese Armed Forces and later adopted by the American Special Forces during the Vietnam War. The Rangeley is inspired by and designed for the Maine outdoors with these dutiful materials: a double sole with a full leather lined triple vamp upper, a high quarter with a split eyestay, and a lace loop paired with a backstay with an integrated pull loop for full function, and is coordinated with matte gun black eyelets. Underscoring the functionality and elements that reflect the handmade craft, this boot is completed with a natural heavy gauge waxed hand-sewn moccasin toe, heel, and overcast stitching, coordinated with a natural double bottom thread for a make-up refined for city styling and well-equipped to explore the woods. This EasyMoc is hand-lasted on an adapted vintage moccasin boot form for an accommodating fit that allows the hand-sewn leather construction to mold to the foot. This boot is assembled for a lifetime of utility using considered elements, including a Leather Ortholite® Comfort Hybrid Footbed for a modern interior and a Blake welted insole to a black vegetable-tanned leather midsole for full re-craftability. For proportional balance and a stable surface, the Rangeley Boot DB is completed with a natural outsole stitched midsole atop a Vibram Gloxi sole, ideal for trekking outdoor terrain in a workman-made moccasin that styles up to your best heritage or modern ensembles.
