Collaboration and Releases with EasyMoc, Samurai, and Japan Blue

How do we follow the big bang of our Fall-Winter 25 Residency? By keeping it subtle, focused, and special for our core clients, who understand they’re wearing some of the finest products in the world without needing to brag or showcase them.

Quality is quiet — based on that premise, we present a concise release of the new Natural CXL Bateau 2-Eye Moc collaboration with EasyMoc. Featuring some of our most beloved Japanese denim-focused but versatile producers, we have curated a tight and trusty collection of all-season, forward-thinking, heritage-style goods. Often overlooked is the fact that most Japanese manufacturing brands are mills with some of the world’s most unique and specialized cotton looms. Samurai and Japan Blue exemplify the vertical manufacturing standards that are rarely seen outside Japan. One reason they produce advanced garments is their use of traditional techniques that are second to none.

EasyMoc x Division Road

This 2-Eye Moc pattern comes from a vintage Maine-made moccasin boat shoe elegantly advanced with traditional hard-duty construction. We debuted this style using Horween’s renowned Natural Chromexcel in its undyed, aniline-finished, vegetable-tanned, and chrome-tanned glory, providing the perfect balance of patina and function.

The Bateau Moc is unlined for a lighter-weight, glove-like fit that coordinates with the 2-eye lace system through the collar to lock it in, while the brown leather midsole and tonally corresponding Vibram 2062 Olympic sole offer a stable foundation for all journeys. The natural waxed, hand-sewn moccasin toe and overcast thread highlight the rare craftsmanship.  Meanwhile, the tonal machine-stitched upper and antique brass eyelets add a touch of sophistication to this casual style, making it easy to go from an ivy crew to a design studio with EasyMoc ease.

Samurai

Samurai is a pack leader who progresses the past with originality and precision while honoring antiquity. The Tropical Weather Dobby Cloth Shirt in Olive and Beige is a prime example, fashioned after a deep dive into the archives of military cloths made for duty in jungles and extreme environments where durability was critical. To present their own equally subtle yet extreme example, Samurai developed a dobby cloth that references vintage style in an original manner.

Using specialized slub yarns and a highly technical Jacquard loom, they created a textured, patterned cloth that breathes and offers protection. Reimagining their core work shirt as a military-inspired piece with a point collar, engineered elbow patches, and custom tonal dyed buttons, it is washed and sun-dried to develop a sophisticated patina that replicates years of wear while leaving plenty of life remaining.

Japan Blue

From one of the largest vertical fabric to garment makers in our niche, we present a cool-guy art director ensemble from Japan Blue featuring the Coverall Jacket and new Easy Trouser made with their exclusive 11 oz. Black Sashiko Cloth. With modern and functional details, these pieces blend martial arts and workwear aesthetics inspired by ancient craft.

Additionally, we have a Circle Series denim restock of the J301 Straight (more of a slim tapered fit) Medium Wash (lighter wash), which has become a shop and fan favorite, paired with the new J401 Classic Straight (more of a straight tapered) Aging Wash (properly named) that evokes a classic 1960s or 1980s worn denim look. Crafted from the proprietary 14.8 oz. selvedge denim recipe of Zimbabwe cotton, woven with moderate tension shuttle looms and hand-distressed, washed, and finished to perfection, these jeans are outstanding examples of pre-aged denim, combining wardrobe versatility and modern comfort.
