Japanese Selvedge Denim produced exclusively for Samurai on vintage shuttle looms that operate at extremely low speeds and require hand operation. This process results in a lower tension fabric with a completely undyed Kinari ecru warp and weft using thick and twisted #5 slub yarns that have a rough texture reminiscent of vintage denim. It boasts an irregular 6x5 weave that will soften quickly and develop a structured drape and unique wear patterns. This natural denim is uniquely made from a blended yarn of American and Organic Japanese Cotton re-established by the Samurai Cotton Project in Hyogo prefecture, employing an ancient native cotton strain and hand-cultivation techniques.
