Description

The De Bonne Facture Ash Brown Italian Boiled Wool Alpine Jacket is part of a soft tailoring collection inspired by the connection between applied academia, folk art, and countryside wear, reflecting the style of prominent professors from the 1940s through the 1980s. With a focus on sustainability and connecting the garment to the landscape, this Alpine Jacket is made from a hearty 16 oz. Boiled Wool Cloth milled in Italy using mulesing-free, 100% Pure Virgin Wool from ethically raised New Zealand Sheep. To create a vintage aesthetic with pure provenance, De Bonne Facture utilized this unique ash-brown cloth, made from lightly dyed wool fibers for a character-rich color in a durable material with immense texture, natural elasticity, and a structured drape that will form to the wearer. With a minimalist design approach inspired by vintage fashion, each element carries thematic consistency and purpose, with details such as a Cossack-style shawl collar, set-in sleeves for a classic silhouette, D-patch front pockets, heavy-duty cotton twill banded edges, and high-character genuine horn buttons for the front closure. Paying homage to the classic Tyrolean jacket worn by Austrian herdsmen and mountaineers from the 40s-60s, this contemporary design is atelier-made in Pantin, France, by outerwear specialist M. Erbas and embodies the soul of fine regional craftsmanship. When combined with the authenticity of fully traceable natural materials, the yield is an artisan piece for the timeless wardrobe of the contemporary fashion connoisseur. Featuring premium materials and production with an historical approach to a forward-focused look, the Ash Brown Italian Boiled Wool Alpine Jacket adds polished execution to any casual luxury ensemble for the campus, event, or excursion.
