Description

The Viberg Mojave Waxy Commander Service Boot is an updated version of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. This limited-production Viberg seasonal edition leverages Waxy Commander leather — tanned in the UK by the storied C.F. Stead, known for making some of the finest waxed animal hides and suedes in the world. This suede recipe uses tightened and shrunk double-butt calf hides on the flesh side that are sanded to a mild nap and then waxed in the tanning process to yield a refined, casual material with robust performance in the outdoors. This leather was developed to age gracefully and conform to the foot with precision and comfort, with a subtle pull-up patina to create variation in color and texture as the suede reveals through the waxed finish. Molded on the Munson-based 2040 Last to provide a modern-classic military silhouette, this boot is fully lined with French binding and complemented with a brogue cap toe, caramel eyelets, and an antiqued finished leather midsole atop a British-made Ridgeway sole to provide lug traction in a discerning design with rugged applications. With each boot carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftspeople using stitchdown construction, this piece is perfect for those seeking an easily paired, classic Service Boot taken to the next level of craft and refinement.
