Collaborations and Releases with Viberg, Dehen 1920, Gitman Vintage, and Freenote Cloth
This week, we’re all about the classics, staples, and go-to throwbacks that capture vintage inspirations, are crafted with time-honored traditions, and serve as the building blocks for fits that channel the mid-century, midtown, and midwest. We have curated both limited and core releases from Freenote Cloth, alongside collaborations with Viberg, Dehen 1920, and Gitman Vintage, all presented in a versatile, earthy palette for all-season style ammunition. These pieces from our core makers make full use of rare materials for wardrobe additions that are as foundational as they are fun, featuring brushed stroke camouflage, stylish camp shirts, canvas in all its forms and waxes, plus a bad-ass Badalassi Coffee veg-tan Viberg, concluding our collaborations.
Freenote Cloth
This carefully curated release from Freenote Cloth exemplifies their dedication to extraordinary staples. The Riders Jacket in Olive is back in full restock glory as an all-purpose 10 oz. Martexin Waxed Army Duck cloth outerwear piece that molds to the wearer over time and is cut and finished for multi-season styling and utility. The Workers Chino is available in two new colors, Army and Navy, crafted from robust, slubby, and drapey Japanese Military Canvas cloth, creating a slim, tapered pant perfect for the style-conscious denim-head. The new rocker-inspired Black Jove short sleeve shirt is designed for the heat using a silky Cotton Tencel blend Twill, featuring a shorter body, a back pleat, and an adjustable gathered hem that can be tucked or flared at the waist for an elegant vintage cut.
Dehen 1920 x DR | Gitman Vintage x DR
For our final Dehen 1920 release of the season, we present fresh interpretations of two new heritage originals for purposeful collectibles. The Crissman Overshirt features a distinctive and versatile brushstroke camouflage from Halley Stevensons® in a 14 oz. Dry Waxed Herringbone Canvas and is fully lined for an outerwear-first design. This substantial Ginger Camo piece will stand out while seamlessly integrating into your wardrobe rotation. It will become uniquely yours as it adapts to your body and evolves in finish and color with a battle-worn patina. The Navy Knit Utility Vest is a Division Road exclusive that explores the potential of the 4-End, made from worsted wool knit by vintage 1950s machines, blending outdoor and workwear styles with corresponding construction details. Designed for layering, the high buttoned v-neck placket allows the Knit Utility Vest to drape perfectly over various base layers, while buttoned patch pockets secure your accompaniments with cotton twill lining and banded seams throughout to provide dutiful elements to an inspired heritage style piece.
Collaborating closely with a partner mill in Japan, Gitman Vintage recreates fabrics from their archives into entirely new articles and compositions. Over the years, one of our favorite warm-weather developments is the Japanese Dobby Stripe made from cotton and linen yarns woven on a jacquard loom to create a sophisticated, tonal, textured three-dimensional pattern. Available in new Brown, Green, and Navy hues in the classic Button Down and Camp Shirt styles, this Dobby Stripe feels substantial like a fall piece while being lightweight enough for summer, all with a mid-century touch. The Japanese Washer Stripe in Antique White and Bronze Brown was initially designed as an exclusive fabric for Division Road. However, once woven, Gitman had to get in on it, and we can’t blame them. Woven in a 2-ply poplin cloth that is washed for a slightly wrinkled, crisp, and cool spring-summer base layer, it transitions effortlessly to fall. Featuring dyed yarns for a woven stripe pattern, the Antique White showcases a tan and midnight palette, while the Bronze Brown, with a hint of cedar, comes with a tan double stripe for vintage aesthetics in new classics.
Viberg x Division Road
From its origins as a Canadian shoemaker founded in 1931, drawing on industrial crafting traditions from England, to becoming the world’s premier logging boot maker and then evolving into a refined heritage brand for modern lifestyles, Viberg has experienced a non-linear journey over the past century. Looking back at the most recent era, we recreated a retro VB x DR Workwear Knit Beanie as a homage to Viberg’s legacy of producing the highest quality industrial logging boots. We are proud and honored by the 180 collectible make-ups we’ve developed with Viberg over the years. To memorialize the latest chapter where collaborations were central to production and the Viberg brand, we introduce a unique Service Boot that embodies our foundational approach of sophisticated aesthetics combined with footwear that is inherently functional for various lifestyles.
This Service Boot comes in an exclusive batch of Coffee Vachetta Minerva leather, tanned in Italy by Badalassi Carlo using traditional full vegetable pit-tanning techniques. It employs a unique blend of fat wax and bark in a recipe reminiscent of Cordovan. This process yields a consistent and structured hide that develops a natural burnish and layered heirloom patina, evoking the charm of fine antiques. Finished with signature details and refined specifications that showcase Viberg’s enhancements to the original Service Boot, this model features a natural leather midsole, large caramel-finished brass eyelets, a bellows tongue, and a split Dainite sole, offering a vintage twist on modern design. All elements are assembled using stitchdown construction, creating a boot that is as durable as it is elegantly crafted.
