Description

The Chestnut Wool Herringbone Twill Stanford Reversible Coat by Fortela is inspired by balmacaan overcoats introduced as countryside tailoring in the late 1800s in Scotland and remains iconic to a gentleman's wardrobe, produced in a refined fit and fabric. This coat has the same design on both sides, using Manteco® cloths to provide two distinct options with a structured drape and classic vintage appeal. A medium weight Chestnut Herringbone Twill uses mulesing-free Pure Virgin Wool woven with chestnut, olive, and espresso yarns to create a textured pattern and is lightly brushed to a soft, flannel finish for a durable and character-rich woolen. The Khaki Gabardine Twill uses fine Cotton yarns in tightly woven twill for water and wind resistance with a casual semi-sheen finish standard in luxury overcoats. This garment is suited for any new-classic enthusiast with an improved aesthetic and detailing in an authentic up-production inspired by the timeless original known for its uniform dress functionality. Derived from Alessandro Squarzi's famous archives, it comes with signature elements like a single breast button front and elongated point collar, darted raglan sleeves for a drape-focused fit, wide welt lower hand pockets with button closure, and adjustable tab button cuffs. Speaking to heritage workshop productions and evolving vintage, this classically designed jacket is cleanly finished on both sides and is completed with horn buttons along with felled seams throughout. The Chestnut Herringbone Wool and Khaki Cotton Twill Stanford Coat will become that style-forward heritage hallmark informed by tailoring and workwear with a modern fit, designed for the man who balances his current fashion with old-world provenance.
