Releases from Fortela and Gitman Vintage
This week, we have a release that celebrates the classics, featuring pieces that are as durable as they are comfortable. When garments are expertly crafted from fiber to fabric to finished product, they don’t have to be stiff, rough, or require a long break-in to last. This collection of seasonal, limited-edition pieces from Fortela and Gitman Vintage proves that excellence and durability can be achieved through soft, comfortable designs, offering effortless elegance. While durability is often associated with hardness, that doesn’t have to be the case. Plus, regardless of your daily routine, you don’t need to save the rare and refined for special occasions — living in style and quality every day is the goal of owning them. Life is short — what are you waiting for? Elevate your style for all occasions.
Fortela
From Alessandro Squarzi's archives comes inspiration for another collection of items designed to elevate everyday life. Blending military icons and tailoring with a unique perspective on Italian and Japanese fabrics, Fortela embodies the dolce vita (good life). True luxury isn't about signaling financial wealth with brands but about living authentically with quality and a clear sense of style.
Squarzi has expressed this layered luxury lifestyle from the beginning of his menswear journey, evident in his refined taste for antique automobiles, timepieces, clothing, and environments. By focusing on classic forms rather than following trends and maintaining a timeless, mature aesthetic, Fortela offers wardrobe-building pieces that help achieve genuine sophistication in a cool, casual manner.
The reversible Stanford Coat provides a versatile, seasonless overcoat with an oversized drape that works equally well over a fully layered outfit or a vintage-inspired sweatshirt. The new Shetland Houndstooth Check Corrado Jacket features a soft-structured, tailored silhouette that feels more formal, yet it is just as appropriate to wear over a button-down or a basic. The Navy Superfine Wool Twill Roger Jacket draws inspiration from naval and mechanic styles, making it an ideal outerwear choice for transitional seasons, layering experiments, or milder climates.
It features a simple design with refined vintage details and a function-focused fit. For refreshed Fortela icons, the Wool Twill CPO returns as version 2.0, offering a perfected wool overshirt meets shirt — and the New Fatigue Trouser comes in a garment-dyed Moleskin, washed for a subtle patina and velvet texture that will age gracefully through adventures and refined ensembles.
Gitman Vintage
With another inspired seasonal collection of reinvented archived fabrics in fresh formulas and fabrications, Gitman continues to make vintage look cool by bringing new-classic heat. A new Long Sleeve Camp shirt offers versatile styling options. It features a unique sashiko-like Japanese dobby jacquard woven into a textured waffle pattern that feels like a knit, brushed to remarkable softness for relaxed comfort in a complex fabric.
The Japanese Cotton Tweeds return in a new check that appears subtle from a distance but intricate upon close inspection, using twisted Grandrelle yarns of different colors to create natural tonal variation and add complexity to a simple traditional pattern with a flannel finish. To round out the fall-season collection, Gitman revived a Madras cloth from the 70s and, with the same mill, reproduced the pattern in a double-sided brushed flannel using dyed yarns in a twill weave for winter-ready comfort in a timeless button-down.
