Description

The Dehen x Division Road N-1 Deck Jacket is an evolved original, coming in a Dark Moss Martexin Waxed Sailcloth and Kodiak Mouton to yield a new winter weather classic designed to last for decades and develop a patina unique to the wearer. Paying homage to Bill Dehen’s military service, this jacket is the finest reproduction of the popular WWII Naval Jacket used on the beachheads of Normandy. Coming from the last remaining producer of waxed canvas in the United States, this 100% Cotton fabric is produced in a 7 oz. Naval grade oxford weave with a consistent tension that provides flexibility. It is yarn waxed to a 9.25 oz. weight with the Martexin® Original formula — made from a propriety and environmentally friendly food and pharmaceutical grade wax — designed to be "tough as sails." This material used by the military for generations in the harsh environment at sea is paired with a full genuine sheep Mouton fur body lining and collar. It yields an N-1 Deck Jacket ready to combat the weather and cold in an upgraded military style equally appropriate in both urban and rural environments. What has become a timeless addition to the Dehen line-up of hand-crafted outerwear offerings using the best materials available, we have improved upon the original with quilted and insulated satin lined sleeves and twill lined pockets, combined with the reproduced hallmark military-grade melamine buttons for the storm flap front placket that covers a two-way brass zipper front, zigzag reinforced undercollar stitching with a buttoned collar latch, concealed wool ribbed storm cuffs, and underarm eyelet vents. This N-1 Deck Jacket exemplifies heritage-focused sophistication in improved materials and details executed with old-world construction techniques. In a heritage palette of saturated deep moss green contrasted with the variable kodiak brown, this Dehen 1920 x DR N-1 is a standout treasure informed by the past and built for adventures ahead, making it an outerwear essential that is at home downtown or on deck.

    Collection: Dehen 1920

Founded in 1920 by William Peter Dehen, this Portland-based company started by creating high quality varsity and collegiate sweaters for student athletes and then expanded into supplying local motorcycle clubs with custom riding sweaters. Nearing a century-long tradition of heavy-duty, quality manufacturing, it is likely that your father’s varsity jacket or grandfather’s letterman sweater was made by Dehen. Now, the company is creating variations on heritage styles without compromising the build to yield new classics meant to endure as antique...
