The Shii Tree Dorozome Dyed Supima Cotton Chino Twill Double Knee Cargo Pants by amachi. are informed by vintage workwear and military trousers, anatomically designed to blend the ancient with the modern in heritage design crafted for the future. The Double Knee Cargo comes in a Wide Straight fit with a high rise, roomy seat and thigh, and a straight leg that ends in a wide hem. These trousers are crafted from a luxurious and structured 14 oz. Japanese High-Density Twill Chino Cloth, shuttle-loomed in Japan from US-Grown Supima Cotton, inspired by WWII military cloth. Connecting nature to the wearer through a proprietary process performed by artisans trained in millennia-old techniques, this garment is Dorozome mud-dyed in the local iron-rich soil baths of the small island of Amami Oshima, using all-natural extracts derived from the native Japanese Shii Chinquapin tree. Built on traditional Japanese garment-construction methods and raw, natural-dyeing techniques, each piece is one-of-a-kind wearable art that will dramatically evolve with the wearer. Adapting the antique with modern advancements, this pant features a reinforced, asymmetrically placed knee panel for kneeling, an integrated phone pocket on one side, an adjustable buttoned flap-patch cargo pocket on the other, slat front welt pockets, concealed buttoned flap welt back pockets, and a buttoned-tab adjustable hem. Furthering a design crafted for endurance, the Double Knee Cargo Pant has a button front, large tacked belt loops, an interior twill waistband and placket trims, sumi ink-dyed mother-of-pearl buttons, and single- and double-needle construction with felled seams at the seat and inseam, plus bartack reinforcements throughout. amachi. garments are dyed with 100% natural pigment extracts from bark, berries, plant roots, clay, soil, ink, indigo, and other materials. Artisans dye the pieces using a simple, elemental process, and each piece shows variation in color and finish. These dyes are raw and unstable, so expect color to transfer to lighter garments or materials until they are washed and become more stable. This ensures each piece is unique and likely to acquire a striking patina over time, evolving with the wearer.
