Collaborations and Releases with Tricker’s, Iron Heart, Studio D’Artisan, Momotaro, Japan Blue, and Chup

This week, we feature a story on Japan’s artisanal, utilitarian approach to street style, showcasing ensembles designed for any environment. With Tricker’s, an English maker treasured by Japanese enthusiasts for decades, we present our Super Monkey and Super Bourton in two-tone configurations, featuring Tempesti Elbamatt Liscio hides atop Vibram Morflex soles, to represent a new iteration of the early-2000s Ametora style. Iron Heart, Studio D’Artisan, and Chup bring precisely crafted collectibles with origin stories that are as considered as the garments themselves. Momotaro and Japan Blue offer this era of menswear new fits with refined, approachable takes on Japanese selvedge denim from core authorities in the niche. As the calendar page turns, our approach to presenting advancements on the traditional remains the same.

Iron Heart | Studio D’Artisan

Perfect for the winter season and for generations to come, we bring you the Black Melton Wool M65 Field Jacket from Iron Heart. Starting with a high-density, double-woven 21 oz. Melton Wool, this M65 is a considered, expertly executed version of the original Vietnam War-issue garment. It includes all the necessary markers and has been improved across all specifications, with a clean design, modern fit, utilitarian detailing, premium materials and trims, and is assembled with the finest, heavy-duty construction in Japan.

In a completely different formula, Studio D’Artisan applies ancient techniques to garments made for today. From remaking a Beach Cloth Work Jacket in a Kasuri-dyed, double-woven cloth to applying Kakishibu persimmon dye to a Sashiko-woven cloth, and Noragi stitching into an artful Workshirt, to utilizing denim yarns in a Jacquard-loomed Indigo Check for a take on New York workwear, SDA always presents pieces layered with Japan’s ingenuity.

Momotaro | Japan Blue | Chup

After 20 years of defining Japanese selvedge denim, Momotaro proves that true heritage is not static. The new “Core lineup” uses 14.7 oz Tokuno Indigo denim, providing a refined expression of its Zimbabwe cotton and low-tension weaving, delivering a softer hand, cleaner drape, and a more immediate wear-in without abandoning its folkloric roots. Featuring enhanced trims, construction, and finish, the MMJB0200 #200 Standard Tapered is now fully restocked in its modern, slim, tapered silhouette. At the same time, we introduce the MMJB0100 #100 Standard Straight, with a comfortable balance between contemporary and classic styles, reflecting how enduring makers can adapt tradition.

With the return of everyday staples refined for modern wear, we bring a full restock of the Japan Blue 501 Loose Straight from the Circle Series, available in both Indigo and Medium Indigo. This easygoing interpretation of a classic is made relevant through vertical production and proportional balance. Cut from proprietary 14.8 oz Selvedge denim with either a clean, rinsed Indigo or a softly faded Medium Indigo, it presents an equally approachable 90s-inspired silhouette with a distinctly European, design-forward sensibility.

Tricker’s x Division Road Super Tempesti Pack

Rooted in our individual relationship with Tricker’s and Tempesti Conceria, the Super Tempesti Pack explores how traditional materials can be reinterpreted in a modern context. In two-tone designs from yesteryear, using Cuoio and Ambra Elbamatt Liscio vegetable-tanned leathers defined by density, clarity, and tonal depth, we approached these builds as studies in contrast rather than nostalgia. Anchored by Tricker’s heritage patterns and softened through proportion, two-tone composition, and the lightweight responsiveness of Vibram Morflex, the result reflects the Japanese streetwear ethos of refining classics for contemporary life. Crafted in collaboration with Tricker’s as an expression of material, form, and intent, the Super Tempesti Pack stands as a singular release — considered, finite, and not to be repeated.

Tricker’s x DR Tempesti Elbamatt Super Monkey Boot

The Super Monkey Boot channels our most expressive pattern development with Tricker’s through an architectural lens, pairing Cuoio and Ambra Elbamatt to emphasize movement and structure. The dense yet pliant Tempesti leathers develop patina through contrast as the edges darken, highlights emerge, and the two tones evolve distinctly but in dialogue. Finished on Vibram Morflex, the profile feels grounded yet agile, reframing a heritage boot through a modern, street-aware sensibility.

Tricker’s x DR Tempesti Elbamatt Super Bourton Derby

The Super Bourton Derby refines Tricker’s iconic brogue pattern into a cleaner, more directional expression, using Ambra and Cuoio Elbamatt to add depth to the subdued ornament. The smooth, tightly finished leather sharpens the silhouette while preserving the warmth and aging character inherent in Tempesti’s vegetable tannage. Balanced by the Morflex sole, the Bourton becomes lighter, more fluid, and quietly progressive, an old-world derby reimagined for contemporary rotation.
