Cromford Leather Co.
Cromford Leather Company is one of the premier producers of leather outerwear in the world, primarily because of its traditional expertise paired with a fresh and necessary fashion sense. Founded in the 1970's out of a Savile Row methodology toward producing leather goods, the company represents the best makers of completely hand-grade leather and shearling outerwear pieces, made one at a time in London. Led by Pauline Harris, with over 35 years of experience in design and workshop production, Cromford pushes innovations on reproductions to yield legacy garments that exude a timeless excellence. Previously known as the General Leather Company, the company renamed itself as an homage to Cromford, Derbyshire, the birthplace of the industrial revolution, in order to reflect their championship of British manufacturing and commitment to cultivating home grown talent. Leathers are sourced directly from small tanneries around the UK and Europe, and each skin is meticulously handpicked to ensure that every garment is produced only with the highest quality materials available. With an exceptional and extensive client list including Margaret Howell, Mulberry, Daks, Holland & Holland, and Private White, along with creating iconic leather garments for the television and film industry, it's clear that Cromford has long established itself as a fixture of living history in its culture-conscious approach to outerwear.
