Back to our regularly scheduled release program, this week we have some all-season goods from our all-star makers known for replicating the best of old workwear standards while elevating heritage goods that honor and inspire the new enthusiast. Iron Heart, Momotaro, and Benzak consistently present the finest materials crafted with the heaviest duty construction to produce garments that serve the minimalist and collector alike and only get better with hard wear. Made to withstand the industrial environment from yesteryear in fits appropriate for today, these pieces are balanced with a bit of comfort out of the box yet require a little work to make them one’s own.
From Iron Heart we have a full catalog of fits and kits, starting with the Green Ombre Check 9 oz. Japanese Selvedge Flannel 348-GRN on the Western shirt in all its indigo and sulfur yarn-dyed majesty for the kings of the road and wandering warriors. The 351-IND Work Shirt debuts the new 10 oz. Japanese Selvedge Denim and hallmarks the maker’s original denim fabric that reflects turn-of-the-century workwear. An indigo dyed warp and grey weft creates a charcoal-based blue fabric that will develop sophisticated tonal fades for the best in workshop class. Lastly, we have the 354 Military Shirt in the new sulfur dyed Olive and Beige 9 oz. Japanese Canvas cloth that will patina and fade over time, evoking the original 1940’s Army shirt inspiration for all those chief officers of craft, cuts, and cloths.
This Momotaro release is focused on the 0605 Natural Tapered fit that quickly has become a shop favorite and features a roomy top block and naturally tapered leg to bridge the modern and vintage for a purely classic cut. This accommodating and comfortable fit maintains a sleek leg and tailored silhouette suitable for various body types. We have a restock on the 0605-V with Momotaro’s revered 15.7 oz. Vintage Indigo denim that has slightly slubbed, deep rope-dyed indigo yarns comprised of hand-cultivated Zimbabwe grown organic cotton resulting in a comfortable and crisp denim that will develop beautifully over years of wear. With the same fabric development backbone, we have a limited run of the 0605-IBSP that has a deep indigo dyed warp and sulfur dyed black weft for a stealth denim that will fade in shades of navy to black for a steely charcoal kit in a timeless fit.
