Collaborations and Releases with Tricker’s, Freenote Cloth, Momotaro, and Benzak

This week, as we begin to emerge from winter, we bring you a proper restock from some of our best denim specialists right in time for warmer weather. The temperature fluctuations and soaking rains of spring make it the best season to break in and evolve your denim projects as we all re-engage in the activities we’ve been deferring.

From Benzak, we present core new-classics showcasing fit and fabric varieties; Momotaro offers a focused drop of the 0405 High Tapered in three collectible fabrics, and we have a Portola denim buffet from Freenote Cloth. To pair those new fits with staple and stalwart footwear, we resurface two Tricker’s collaborations that advance the original with Division Road’s limited batch tannage sourcing and considered specifications.

Benzak Denim Developers

We present a collection that embodies a denim head’s dream of creating hyper-considered wardrobe staples crafted by the finest makers in Japan and Portugal. The Tiger Stripe Camo Ripstop Military Overshirt is a masterfully reinterpreted icon, paired with the Black Herringbone Twill Utility Shirt, providing two wardrobe essentials that will remain in rotation for years and improve with age.

From Japan-made Benzak Denim Developers, we bring the 710N Relaxed Tapered in 12 oz. Low Tension selvedge denim, delivering a comfortable, broken-in feel in a timeless fit; the hallmark 006 Mid Slim, regarded as one of the best tapered fits available, in medium-weight 13.5 oz. Grey Cast denim; and the 707 Straight Tapered in 16 oz. Heavy Slub fabric, featuring a vintage-inspired fit and excellent fade potential.

Freenote Cloth

The Portola fit has quickly become one of our clients’ favorites as it lives perfectly between the classic and modern. The refined mid-high rise cut has a roomy seat and thigh and a gracefully tapered leg that accommodates a wide variety of body types in addition to a perfect hem dimension for a clean break on everything from dress shoes to chunky loggers.

First, we have a full restock on the all-season, consistent, and comfortable 14.5 oz. denim Freenote developed exclusively with Kaihara Mills. For new offerings in this hallmark fit, we have the textured and tough 17 oz. Slub that will soften and offer vintage fade patterns, and a new 15 oz. Brown denim with a tan-khaki warp and black weft for a unique worn-in dusty, down, and dirty-looking fade.

Momotaro

For a modern tapered with a comfortable top block and a dramatically tapered leg that provides comfort in a slimmed fit, the 0405 High Tapered is about as good as it gets. Momotaro is transitioning from its fit and fabric formula to making the product more high-designed and approachable to a modern audience.

We love the direction, but in the meantime, we’ve been sourcing as much as we can in soon-to-be archived styles so our clients can stock up on these collectible configurations of fit and fabric that have been known as some of the best in the business for the better part of two decades. For fabric variations that accommodate all conditions and preferences, we have the 15.7 oz. Black x Black, 16 oz. US Revival Cotton, and the 13 oz. Zimbabwe Cotton as the last opportunity to grab these limited and iconic denims.

Tricker’s x Division Road

This is not a restock at all, but a pure resurface as both of these Tricker’s collaborations are some of the best in the line-up, and we have no idea why we still have full-size runs. Sometimes, the timing of a release and the plethora of killer make-ups we churn out result in exceptional items getting missed. Thus, we have a “wake up—these are wildly wicked” release to refocus your attention on these styles that are slow to go, then yield years of inquiries of whether they will be done again. So, don’t miss the one-and-done Horween English Tan Cavalier Low Logger and CF Stead Jambo Waxed Kudu James Boot for versatile collaborations using specially sourced, limited batch tannages that give our Menswear 2.0 take on traditionally welted English footwear with an Americana vibe.

CF Stead Jambo Waxed Kudu James Boot

One of our freshest creations, the James is an exclusive pattern adaptation of the Stow Boot formed on the trademark 4497 Last with a dress shape and work boot fit. This cleanly configured casual design hallmarks military styles with a tight, triple-stitched upper using a natural thread that contrasts the warm and blackened wild antelope Jambo Waxed Kudu that has a unique matte finish. The stitching coordinates with the tones and dutiful utility of a natural leather Barbour welt and midsole and an English-made Ridgeway sole that facilitates traversing the terrain in an elegant form.

Horween English Tan Cavalier Low Logger

For a take on a classic work boot evolved by English craftsmanship and a limited batch of leather from Horween, this Low Logger will handle the functional needs of the original inspiration with rarity and style. This Low Logger comes in Cavalier, an iteration of Chromexcel, with the same characteristic pull-up and durability qualities in a more flexible, finished grain. In a brilliant English Tan that will darken and develop smooth highs and lows through its patina journey, this Logger is completed with dutiful and tonally coordinated brass eyelets and a natural leather Barbour Welt and midsole atop the indestructible Goodyear Commando sole.
