Maja Sandvang x Division Road
From day one at The Fields, we’ve been looking for the just-right ceramicist to develop limited edition collections that reflect our holistic approach towards style that extends into the home and life with craft artisan goods that have soul and quality. We discovered Danish-born, Virginia-based ceramicist Maja Sandvang and started working on the first Artisan Series collection of hand-thrown and sculpted tablewares designed to refine the everyday with artful objects grounded in craftsmanship and made to endure.
Rooted in a minimal, organic sensibility, formed entirely by hand from North Carolina stoneware, custom hand-glazed and finished, these one-of-a-kind vessels reflect Maja’s quiet command of material and form with a beautiful and controlled natural imperfection. Each piece is 100% lead and cadmium-free, microwave and dishwasher-safe, and crafted in small batches exclusively for Division Road. Inspired by the sophisticated cosmopolitan nature of Division Road at The Fields, the Graphite collection has an incredible warmth and beautiful background to culinary works, fine espresso pours, and liquor libations. The plate collection comes in Dinner, Salad, and Snack sizes with a balance of hand-thrown irregularity and crafted precision. Combined with the Everyday Bowl, the same glazed interior contrasts with the raw edge and textured exterior of the natural North Carolina stoneware clay for a complete dinnerware set that will impress, delight, and comfort your world.
Inspired by the rustic bucolic nature of Division Road at The Fields, the Sandstone collection has a tonal aesthetic where texture and subtlety speak loudly through pieces that will coordinate with any environment and provide the authenticity of art and craft to any serving. The drinkware reflects the old and new with our signature glazed interior and lip with a fired edge that transitions to the raw stoneware for artisan craft with high design. With new arrivals under our Division Provisions banner, we updated the design of our trusty developments of essential tools built to serve the modern lifestyle through enduring materials, thoughtful design, and heritage goods accompaniments. The Division Road Tote turns to a Timeless Edition with a dutiful 12 oz. Black Cotton Canvas, gusseted construction, taped seams, and bartack reinforcements throughout. We designed a tonally modern Timeless screen-printed artwork on one side and contrasted the Division Road stamp logo on the reverse side to present two forward options still rooted in our vintage inspirations.
Furthering the modern inspired by vintage design scheme, the Division Road Garment Bag comes in a CVA Edition for a subtle, large-scale impression of considered style and care for the wares. The same durable 11 oz. Black Oxford Broadcloth Canvas, gusseted configuration for multiple garments, and reinforced construction is for transporting tailored garments and heritage gear with utilitarian sophistication.
