Collaborations and Releases with Nicks Handmade Boots, Dehen 1920, Freenote Cloth, and Merz b. Schwanen

This week, we’re exploring a reinvigorated Western spirit through pieces rooted in mid-century American workwear, military, and ranching references. Spanning influences from the 1950s to the 1970s, this release combines classic silhouettes with traditional craftsmanship refined over many years. As these influences evolved, so have the materials and the resulting garments, emphasizing durability and suitability for daily use. One-and-done collaborations with Nicks Handmade Boots and Dehen 1920 anchor the story, paired with standout shirting and bottoms from Freenote Cloth and Merz b. Schwanen basics with an antique aesthetic. Whether channeling an industrious rancher, a rockabilly-era cruiser, or simply weaving old-school references into new-school fits, this is a considered ensemble for the frontier of work and style.

Freenote Cloth

Freenote Cloth continues to distill heritage Americana into garments that balance rugged character with refined execution. The Mendon overshirt delivers classic western detailing in a contemporary silhouette, crafted from a brushed, fleece-like Japanese wool twill that wears easily over layers while maintaining a clean, tailored form. The Scout shirt pairs a traditional field-shirt profile with an intricate red-and-black jacquard flannel, milled in Japan. It is visually simple at a glance yet profoundly complex up close. Rounding out the offering are the Deck Pant in substantial Japanese military slub canvas, cut in a classic utilitarian fit, and the new go-to classic Belford in a straight-tapered silhouette, available in 14.25 oz. black x grey Japanese denim built to age with a darkened character.

Dehen 1920 x Division Road

Our ongoing collaboration with Dehen 1920 returns with two Division Road exclusive knitwear styles, produced in limited yarn colorways and grounded in mid-century American sweater traditions. Knitted in-house on Dehen’s vintage machinery in Portland using their signature worsted merino wool yarns and our 3-end knit construction, the Shawl Cardigan in Burgundy and the Casual Cardigan in Dark Tan deliver warmth, structure, long-term durability, and timeless style.

Merz b. Schwanen

Merz b. Schwanen’s Good Originals program continues to set the standard for new-heritage essentials crafted on restored machines that deliver a crisp hand and invite daily wear. The 2M06 2-Thread Henleys use the new 6.8 oz. Vintage Machine jersey for no-fuss, true four-season base layers that work equally well solo or under heavier knits and outerwear. Made in Albstadt, Germany, in Charcoal and Forest, these pieces bring understated luxury to the foundation of the wardrobe.

Nicks Handmade Boots x Division Road

We are pleased to introduce the Cognac Shackleton Western Rockabilly Boot, a one-and-done collaboration that fuses vintage logger heritage with a cleaner, western-leaning silhouette built for hard-duty outdoor work or a night on the town. This boot is anchored by the 11067 Last, which offers a modernized take on archival logging-boot forms, with a rounded, vintage-sprung toe design, a moderate profile and width through the forefoot, and a snug waist and heel for a secure fit.

This style debuts in Horween’s Cognac Shackleton, a wax-rich, weather-resistant, and flexible tannage with color depth, pull-up character, and long-term patina potential. For a clean, new-west aesthetic, this tonal configuration features brass eyelets, a brown hand-finished leather midsole, and a sculpted logger heel, atop the reproduction Dr. Sole Supergrip split sole for traction and flexibility. With stitchdown construction by Nicks finest in Spokane, the Western Rockabilly includes all of the Division Road upper stitching details and collaboration elements, making it a true one-and-done expression of heritage craft meeting contemporary restraint.
