Releases and Collaborations with De Bonne Facture, ts(s), S.N.S. Herning, Merz b. Schwanen and Gitman Vintage
This week, in preparation for cooler weather, we’re releasing a collection in a palette that reflects an aged character, with textures and patterns that blend into a layered elegance that invites exploration. While many hesitate to experiment with mixing patterns and style categories, this trial-and-error approach makes discovering the unexpected possible. From our experience, this process leads to specific pieces and techniques for dressing that become signatures of our personal style.
Break the rules, reject the guides, give things a go, and embrace the wisdom from lessons learned, maybe with a delightfully odd look here and there. In that spirit, from the rebels of fashion and icons of heritage menswear, De Bonne Facture, ts(s), Merz b. Schwanen, S.N.S. Herning, and Gitman Vintage give us goods that ground and coordinate ensembles with pieces that are distinct, durable, and down for years of “vibe” shifts. This attitude of being mature, thoughtful, and creative with our style is also about not taking this stuff or ourselves too seriously.
De Bonne Facture
Coolstyle is about owning a look, and no brand better represents a signature aesthetic that is as unique as it is adaptable than De Bonne Facture. It features limited-edition Overshirts — one in a tonally extravagant Forest Navy Houndstooth Check for a fresh take on cityside countrywear, and a lavishly subtle Navy Italian Yak & Wool Twill with an exceptional hand feel and drape. Then, using verified mulesing-free wool with natural textured and tonally complex yarn developments, the Shaggy Sheep Jumper and Boucle Student Cardigan showcase artisan craftsmanship with modern sophistication.
ts(s) | Gitman Vintage x DR
The Susuki design studio ts(s) offers a fresh reinterpretation of classic menswear with timeless pieces ranging from vintage to modern. In an exclusive Neps Virgin Wool Tweed Cloth — which replicates a traditional Donegal Birdseye loomed in Japan with interesting, random bursts of burnt red, teal blue, wheat, and rust yarns — we present the Single Breast 2-Button Jacket and Neck Tie in Gray and Khaki. Neither strictly formal nor casual, these pieces are just damn cool and wearable, easy to coordinate with a deeply curated wardrobe or become a minimalist’s staple.
Once again working closely with Gitman Vintage on fabric sourcing, we visited one of Japan’s finest shirting cloth makers, Shuttle Notes®, for two 6.5 oz. Brushed Twills that showcase vintage palettes and patterns in unique ways with premium quality. These cloth artisans took a large check and plaid design and shrunk it to a miniature scale using fine combed cotton yarns dyed and woven with exquisite execution. Featured in our signature modern 2.5” collar button-down shirt and camper style, we present another series of collectible Division Road Gitmans meant to be treasured for years.
S.N.S. Herning x DR | Merz b. Schwanen
As the season shifts, trees shed their leaves and daylight begins to fade, we crave the cool days that make layering with carefully chosen knitwear a staple of our routine. From those who understand these conditions best, we reintroduce you to the Nordic-engineered and crafted S.N.S. Herning, featuring their unique take on traditional techniques using vintage machines dating back to the 1950s. To soothe the quality-conscious soul with style and utility, we offer an exclusive Felt Full Zip, a new Robust Rank Crewneck, and a freshly designed knit Given Crewneck.
For the best basics in the industry, covering a full range, Merz b. Schwanen has gifted us with another Good Originals German Loopwheel style that will last and stay in rotation for years to come. The 10.7oz Loopwheeled 2-Thread S218 Heavyweight Longsleeve is more like a cotton sweater or sweatshirt than a jersey t-shirt. The Heavyweight Loopwheeled Longsleeve features a classic yet modern, relaxed fit that matches the weight and feel with broad styling applications. It has an innovative and antique slub pattern throughout, created with heavy organic cotton yarns on these gravity tubular knit machines dating back to the industrial era.
