Description

The Freenote Cloth Midway Shirt is a heavyweight shirt-jacket produced from a Japanese Sashiko cloth for an overshirt or mid-layer appropriate as an all-season style staple. Using the Midway pattern, this piece is reinterpreted from the WWII Navy and Army-issued CPO shirt with a straightened fit and hem, oversized chest pockets, and finished with jacketing details for new-vintage styled flavor. This 14 oz. White Sashiko cloth — inspired by martial arts garments — has a woven elasticity and flexibility using thick natural and indigo-dyed yarn to create a weave texture and color contrast that will patina beautifully with the heavy use this fabric is designed to endure. Staying true to heritage production details and evolved design elements, this shirt features a point collar, reversed French placket, large flap front patch pockets with a gusseted side, and button cuffs. It is completed with Italian horn buttons, felled seams, single and double-needle construction, and bartack reinforcements throughout. The Freenote Cloth Midway White Sashiko is a modern take on Western workwear made in the United States with old-world quality — sure to become a future heirloom for the vintage-inspired enthusiast seeking something new.
