A New Standard for Women’s Craft Footwear

As fashion continues to shift toward disposability, a quiet movement is taking root among discerning women seeking meaningful alternatives. The Division Road team set out to create considered counterpoint products defined by substance, style, and craft. That venture began with our intent: giving meaning to what we make and wear. When conversations turned to the absence of truly refined, traditionally made footwear for women, the path forward was clear — build it ourselves with the right partner. For well over a year, we worked closely with Tricker’s to develop a collection that redefines what luxury women's footwear can be: timeless, well-made, and authentically constructed.

Our development objective was clear from the outset — reduce weight, increase flexibility, and retain stability. A thinner leather insole, cork fill, and wooden shank provided structural comfort; omitting leather midsoles and employing a reverse Goodyear Flexi-Welt achieved a balance of lightness and longevity. Using Tricker’s refined 6230 Last as one of the best women’s Lasts for welted footwear in the market, and an array of heritage patterns as the foundation, this range was meticulously developed to suit the female form while preserving every hallmark of Goodyear-welted quality. These refinements enabled new aesthetic adaptations, altering proportions, so each style in our Tricker’s x Division Road WMNs collection bridges town and country sensibilities.

The “Nomad” configuration, featured in the Paula Chelsea and Stephy Brogue, employs reverse Goodyear welted construction and introduces a thicker rubber midsole layered with a Vibram Vi-Lite lug sole, providing a mild platform that offers both flexibility and stability. The result is a feminine form with elevated traction, cushioning, and all-terrain readiness, expressing craft through agile movement and enduring strength.

In contrast, the “City” configuration in the Anne Brogue City Derby eliminates the midsole entirely, using a reverse-welted construction that extends directly through the low-profile Dainite sole. This sleeker platform reflects the silhouette for urban environments while preserving structure and recraftability. By reducing bulk and optimizing flex, the City construction delivers a lighter, more responsive dress-casual profile, suited to contemporary wear with a timeless aesthetic.

Coming full circle, the Super Monkey Boot marked the beginning of our years-long expedition into the light-foot, hard-duty ethos and remains a core collectible collaboration across several makeups. Adapted from our signature style and scaled to the 6230 Last, this piece uses premium Horween Chromexcel in Black and Natural contrast panels, complemented by brass eyelets, and a Vibram Morflex Christy sole. The result is a boot with structural presence and unexpected agility—bridging sneaker comfort and benchmade tradition.

True to our design process, material selection became the defining throughline of the collection, emphasizing Horween leathers chosen for their provenance, performance, and patina potential, often not present in women’s footwear. The expressive Western Floral Dublin embossing reveals the natural depth of this vegetable-tanned hide, and the historic Pioneer Hatch Grain provides patterned individuality. These sit alongside the enduring essentials of Black Chromexcel paired with Black Chromexcel Western Floral for the Anne Brogue, and the Black and Natural Chromexcel two-tone pairing for the Super Monkey.

Merging Tricker’s craft precision with Horween’s premium tanning in this WMNs collection embodies rugged luxury, longevity, refinement, and footwear that evolves beautifully. Through this collaboration collection, we sought not to reimagine Tricker’s legacy but to expand it — crafting footwear that upholds generational standards while answering the modern woman’s call for authenticity, adaptability, and artful endurance. The Tricker’s × Division Road WMNS Collection sets a new standard in purposeful design, where heritage craft can expand its future.
