Excursion to our Region to Explore the Goods

People ask us all the time, “Why Charlottesville?” The answer is short and long. The short is that we point at The Fields. The long is that Charlottesville is a hidden gem with an amazing community and collection of businesses, a preserved historical context of the founding of America, a beautiful landscape from the Shenandoah Mountains to the valley with numerous microclimates, and plenty of activities from the cultural to the outdoors and everything in between.

Division Road wanted to be a place that spearheads a sense of discovery for any visitor coming to the region, whether it be their first time or repeated venture. Charlottesville, the Monticello Wine Trail, and the broader area are not to be missed. We couldn’t fashion anything better than engaging new goods in a unique format, joined with a journey to a premier tourism destination that combines the craft, epicurean stars, bucolic scenery, and excursions from town to farm.

With great places to stay, eat, drink, play, and listen, we wanted to present a little travel journal highlighting some of our spots and things to do in Charlottesville. Start the day and grab a coffee at Petite MarieBette before checking out the Downtown Mall or IX Park Farmers Markets' on the weekend. Grab lunch and a game of pool at Common House and access this hip and private social club by letting them know you’re a guest of Division Road. Take a bottle of Pippin Hill and head to the Shenandoah Mountains via Skyline Drive for a peaceful, pour-happy picnic.

As the sun sets, numerous restaurants beckon, and for no-fail magnificence, head to Tavola for a craft cocktail and the best elevated Italian in town. Everything on the menu and the service are outstanding and consistent, and we will host our Residency Collective Dinner this Fall. There are many great bars and music venues in town. For a blend of craft cider, revamped antique architecture, and listening to folk music among the stars, Potter’s Cider is a perfect cap to a sincere day and night of Charlottesville life.

One of the main features of our headquarters in Charlottesville is the ability to facilitate our Brand Residency events. Unique to our retail environment and format, we bring in multiple brands for a curated affair of customization and exclusive offerings. Our clients connect and create with the heads of these brands and, most crucially, with other patrons who are equally passionate about the goods in an authentically captivating space. Everyone is purely here to produce and support the best quality garments and footwear that these manufacturing brands can make and offer unique creations. Our Collective Dinners allow patrons to connect, convene, and converse with these leaders and creatives in a causal, personal, and elevated dining experience. Over the last several years we’ve been honored to host some of our closest collaborating brands for Residency’s including Iron Heart, White’s, Dehen 1920, Tricker’s, De Bonne Facture, EasyMoc, and Gitman Vintage.

At one of the best seasons to visit, with the crisp air and changing color across our multi-varietal foliage forests, surrounded by history and harvests, we have the Fall Winter 2024 Residency at The Fields on September 20th & 21st. Take part in this extraordinary and exclusive opportunity with MotivMfg and White’s to design your own unique, one-off creations.
