Description

The Dehen 1920 Weekender Jacket is a unique all-season, limited-edition jacket made from a dutiful Indigo 12 oz. Japanese Woven Sashiko cloth inspired by martial arts and reinforcement cloths used since the 17th century. Woven in Japan on a three-dimensional loom using thick and deeply indigo-dyed warp and weft yarns, this sashiko cloth is once-washed for a raw appearance that will develop a distinct, personalized patina throughout the naturally textured weave. As a modern take on a classic leisure jacket, a throwback combination of tonal accents highlights Dehen's history as an established American heritage staple in a timeless design with navy worsted wool ribbed hem and cuffs made on Dehen's own 1940s circular knitting machines. Furthering this best-in-class garment crafted with authentic American workmanship, the Weekender Jacket comes with welted hand pockets, a vertical snapped interior chest pocket, a military-grade two-way nickel zipper with an interior storm placket reinforced with zigzag stitching, and is fully finished with a satin lining. A hallmark of Dehen's captain of craft status, this Weekender Jacket is for those seeking a rare collectible that will become an outerwear essential with a classic design, color scheme, and material appropriate for the style and seasonal versatility that's equally at home in Kansas or Kyoto.

    Collection: Dehen 1920

Founded in 1920 by William Peter Dehen, this Portland-based company started by creating high quality varsity and collegiate sweaters for student athletes and then expanded into supplying local motorcycle clubs with custom riding sweaters. Nearing a century-long tradition of heavy-duty, quality manufacturing, it is likely that your father’s varsity jacket or grandfather’s letterman sweater was made by Dehen. Now, the company is creating variations on heritage styles without compromising the build to yield new classics meant to endure as antique...
