Three guys walk into a bar (if there was one still open) and compare their connoisseurship of craft... There was a joke in there, but some news headline flashed across our screen and we have no idea what's going on now, again. Despite the day's events, we have a Service Boot special week that looks ahead by bringing back some of our most desirable core exclusives. We have a style that matches any proclivity; from the clean, cool, street-ready and refreshed Black Mill Dyed CXL, to the dark and stormy Port Vitello Calf with its enigmatic color and deep character, and the Natural Dublin for those hunkering down with heritage and looking to continue their patina journey by hiking in hiding. So, let our venerable Division Road Vibergs bring you out of the trenches of technology with some traditional craftsmanship in these new classic Service Boot make-ups.
Once the Patina Post rolls were taken, congress agreed on at least one thing: the "Opulent Outlaw" Port Vitello Service Boot was constitutionally collectable. This full-grain vegetable tanned calfskin has a dark wine coloration over a charcoal base, with a natural nubucked finish that enhances complex and layered developments through its dealings with the world. While commanding the room's attention with all of its natural dye, veg-tan and patina potential, this leather demands the refinements of small antiqued brass eyelets, a brogue cap toe with traditional pinking, and an antique midsole. Completed with stitchdown construction atop a British made Ridgeway sole, the Port Vitello Calf Service Boot is outdoor-ready with an executive-level elegance.
As one of our Division Road originals, we felt it time to give a clean and crsip evolution to the Black CXL Service Boot (a.k.a. the "West is the Best") while maintaining its sleek, industrial, and universal appeal. Using an immersive drum dying technique during the re-tanning process and extended air drying, this aniline Mill Dyed Black Chromexcel from Horween comes correct, consistent, and contemporary with a natural feel and finish. This make-up uses Viberg's archetypal workwear meets streetwear mash-up formula of a sophisticated dress form, straight cap toe and nickel eyelets that are paired with a natural leather midsole and the industrial grade Vibram 4014 Christy Sole that creates a timeless utilitarian style piece. For unmatched and unchallenged flex, look no further than our Black CXL Service Boot to channel your inner "OG" Original Gentleman.
Known affectionately as the “Nat Dubs," this Service Boot style in our exclusive leather is designed for the evolved collector and utilitarian to fully communicate the story of his journey, whatever road he may travel. The undyed and rugged Natural Dublin Leather from Horween is vegetable tanned using the same extracts as a Cordovan with a high oil and fat content for pull-up qualities, finished with a white wax coating giving the hide a glowing, golden tan goodness. For a higher rank, the military Munson-based shape and profile makes this Service Boot reminiscent of vintage work boots, standing out with historic clout by being paired with strong and subtle tonal specifications atop a British made Dainite Sole, rendering a versatile and enduring modern heritage piece that, like our tales, only gets better with age.
On March 23rd, Washington state was issued a Stay-at-Home measure that prevents the operation of our Seattle Store location, which is currently closed until April 6th.

Contributions to Those Affected
We will be contributing 10% of Gross Profits (Sales minus Cost of Goods) for the month of March directly to those disrupted by this crisis. We are focusing our efforts on Pioneer Square as this is a neighborhood made up almost entirely of small businesses that have been gravely affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and forced to shut their doors and lay-off employees. This contribution will consist of direct Cash-in-Hand donations based on our profits from Sales through this month to those owners and staff, which we will document on social media and our Bulletin. This is a dire financial situation for many, and please know that your purchases with Division Road will go directly toward some of those facing the economic consequences of this crisis and will result in some grassroots good.
Continue the Journey
While we have high professional standards in all regards and aim to operate at the level of much larger corporations, Division Road is a team of three individuals. This business is the lifeblood of our livelihood, supports a niche of authentically made quality goods, and in turn is a driver of prosperity for many throughout our chain of partnerships. As the health concern is paramount for us all, social distancing and shutdown measures resultant from this crisis have and will continue to cause lasting economic distress for a huge population. Many of them will be businesses like ours and those that we support, who endeavor to provide the world with truly special goods and personalized experiences. Let's maintain and preserve the foundational drivers of the economic system and keep the craft alive, along with one another.
