Service Boot - 2030 - Ridgeway - Shinki Cognac Latigo Horsehide

$995.00

Description

The Viberg x Division Road Shinki Cognac Latigo Horsehide Service Boot is an updated version of Viberg’s original work boot, designed by company founder Edwin Viberg in 1931 and inspired by a standard issue military boot pattern used by several nations during WWII. This exclusive-to-Division Road Service Boot uses a limited batch, full-weight vegetable-tanned Latigo Horsehide from the venerable Shinki Tannery in Japan that specializes in hand-finished horse hides. This naturally drum dyed Horsehide has been mimosa bark tanned and air dried, causing the leather to become more dense while accentuating the uncorrected grain, and is then hand oiled and waxed through the glazing and finishing process to intensify the natural characteristics of the leather and provide flexibility. Molded on the ever-popular 2030 Last, the boot is fully lined with French binding, antique brass eyelets, and a natural leather midsole atop a British-made Ridgeway sole to provide lug traction in an elegant design. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftspeople using stitchdown construction, this piece is perfect for those looking for an easily paired, classic Service Boot taken to the next level of craft and refinement.

Sizing

Viberg sizing is consistent to our old-grade manufacturers and the 2030 Last is frequently equal to a Tricker’s or White’s for most feet. As a general rule when sizing for Viberg, we suggest you select a half (.5) size down from a common US boot like Red Wing or Alden, or one-and-a-half (1.5) sizes down from a common US sneaker like Nike or New Balance.
