Description

The Viberg x Division Road Olivia TPR Horsebutt Boondocker is based on an interpretation of the standard issue WWII US Navy Boot commonly known as the N-1 Field Shoe, similar to the 1943 US Army Type III Boot, adapted by using the appropriate vintage Service Boot pattern along with adding the original heavy-duty quadruple quarter and triple counter stitching. As an elevated homage to military servicemen, this exclusive-to-Division Road Boondocker uses a limited batch dark olive Horsebutt from Maryam Tannery that's vegetable-tanned to maintain the natural feel and unique grain character of the horsebutt hides, and is mill dyed to produce a subtle burnished patina with a semi-dress shine and finish that will correspond with any ensemble. The densely structured, full-weight horsebutt hides are finished with a TPR treatment that thermally adheres a resin finish in tanning to enhance their natural shell-like shine, durability, flexibility, and comfort. Further elevating the military archetype, we enlisted the 2055 Last that has a lower-profiled silhouette in an accommodating Munson-based fit that provides refinement to the original Boondocker shape. This new-classic boot is perfectly integrated with historically informed heavyweight tonal upper stitching, antique brass eyelets, a natural leather midsole, and an appropriately proportioned Goodyear Commando sole. With each piece carefully assembled by exacting Viberg craftspeople using stitchdown construction, this piece is perfect for those looking to channel their inner McQueen for their next Great Escape with a modern and collectable take on a vintage boot.

Sizing

Viberg sizing is consistent to our old grade manufacturers and the 2055 Last is frequently equal to a Tricker’s or White’s for most feet. As a general rule when sizing for Viberg, we suggest you select a half (.5) size down from a common US boot like Red Wing or Alden, or one-and-a-half (1.5) sizes down from a common US sneaker like Nike or New Balance.
