The Iron Heart IHSH-388-BLU Short Sleeved Summer Shirt in Blue is a lightweight, reinforced piece produced from a 4 oz. sanforized and rinsed Japanese Selvedge Chambray Blend that's appropriate as a warm weather style staple. Based on the new Iron Heart Mechanics Shirt pattern, this Summer Shirt is perfectly proportioned and made to be worn untucked with a straight hem and split side seam combined with tack-stitched cuffs for vintage-styled grit, saluting shop shirts from the 50s. Loomed in Japan, this plain weave — akin to a chambray — is made in an 87% Cotton, 7% Linen, and 6% Rayon blend that yields a lightweight, breathable, and durable fabric with a slight slub texture and luxurious drape. The Summer Shirt has numerous and carefully considered construction and design details that improve the original inspiration, like contrasting white stitching coordinated with white concave military-grade melamine buttons on the buttoned flap front chest pockets and front placket. Further, a red selvedge line reveal on the interior placket, combined with felled seams and chainstitched construction with bartack reinforcements throughout, give this piece all the necessary heritage provenance and then some. Iron Heart Shirting sizing is graded in small increments. The 388 Summer Shirt runs true to Iron Heart sizing and is made with a sanforized, once-washed fabric with most shrinkage removed. With regular use, one can expect up to .5” of stretch in the chest over the long term.
