Description

The American Vector Bomber by MotivMfg x Division Road is designed to bridge vintage military jackets and modern tailoring. This outerwear garment is derived from a WWII Tanker Jacket that takes fit and detailing from aviator styles, recreated as a cleanly designed, fully insulated tubular wool batten bomber in an anatomically tailored fit. A complicated articulated raglan sleeve with integrated diamond-shaped shoulder patches for reinforcement is combined with a pleated back shoulder to allow for movement in a design-centric approach to a cut perfectly balanced between vintage and contemporary. This jacket is made from a 19 oz. Fox Brothers® Classic Covert Cloth using the finest 100% Pure New Wool for a highly worsted suiting grade fabric engineered for the outdoors while maintaining a sophisticated aesthetic and luxurious finish. Featured in the V&A Museum for its deep ties to historic milling processes, Fox Bros created Covert Cloth in the early 1900s as a military-grade stepped twill weave wool to endure regimental riding and harsh conditions, providing outdoor protection for officers and gentleman alike in colors that camouflage to horses and hide dirt and debris. Since 1772, Fox Brothers has produced top-tier textiles used in many applications, from Savile Row tailoring to British Military garments. By sourcing the best fibers from around the world and using intensive hand-driven milling and cording processes, they produce fabrics of the highest grade with comfort, density, and durability, all wrapped into one. This American Vector Bomber is designed with a zipped and buttoned storm placket front and articulated ribbed stand collar, hem, and cuffs, allowing for outdoor versatility and functionality with elevated style. Paying homage to the originals with sophisticated finishing, this jacket is fully lined with cotton twill. It has beautifully diamond-shaped wide-welt hand pockets and two interior snap pockets for comfortable and secure carrying. This piece is packed with superior bespoke and old-world detailing like felled seams, bartack reinforcements throughout, and custom cast and burnished gunmetal buttons. MotivMfg has re-established a pattern-to-bespoke garment one-roof workshop in Beijing with the ethos, process, techniques, and materials of Savile Row to produce historically informed garments in styles and production methods lost by the West. We are honored to partner with MotivMfg to offer exclusive collaborations for a new and timeless uniform for the Division Road Army.
